Outro 00:38
"Silently she’s combing, Combing her long hair, Silently and graciously, With many a pretty air. The sun is in the willow leaves And on the dappled grass And still, she’s combing her long hair Before the looking glass. I pray you, cease to comb out, Comb out your long hair, For I have heard of witchery Under a pretty air. That makes as one thing to the lover Staying and going hence, All fair, with many a pretty air And many a negligence."
2.
"I take a step back Straining my ears for any sound around me The infinite silent thought is my faithful companion When I am lost in a day And skies above me are dull and grey When every step is a run And I'm a hunter and a pray Swimming against the stream Streaming my thoughts in the endless flow Trying to move down the road I am a traveller who likes it slow The dawn is nearer and thoughts are softer I find myself moving, slowly I take a step towards the road"
3.
"Eyes looked back Arms reached out Steps went on Now you're gone When you choose To look back Please come by, Don't be shy"
4.
Dream Land 04:07
"Where sunless rivers weep Their waves into the deep She sleeps a charmed sleep Awake her not. Led by a single star She came from very far To seek where shadows are Her pleasant lot She left the rosy morn She left the fields of corn For twilight cold and lorn And water springs Through sleep as through the veil She sees the sky look pale And hears the nightingale That sadly sings Rest, rest, rest A perfect rest Her face toward the west The purple land She cannot feel the grain Ripening on hills and plain She cannot feel the rain Upon her hand Rest, rest, rest Forever more Rest, rest, rest At hearts core Till time shall sleep Sleep no pain shall wake Night no morn shall break 'till joy shall overtake Her perfect peace"
5.
"When I am dead, my dearest Sing no sad songs for me Don't plant roses or cypress trees at my head Be the green grass above me With showers and dew drops wet And if you will remember And if you will forget, for I am a thousand winds that blow I am the diamond glints on snow I am the sunlight on the ripened grain I am the gentle autumn's rain When you awaken in the morning's hush I am a swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds In circled flight I am the soft stars that shine at night"
6.
"She dried her tear and they did smile They smiled to see her cheeks retourning glow How little dreaming all the while That full heart throbbed to overcome With that sweet look and lovely smile And bright eyes shining all the day They could not guess at midnight lone How she would weep her time away"
7.
"Rain on Rahoon falls softly Softly falling where my dark lover lies Sad is his voice that calls me, sadly calling At grey moonrise. Love, hear thou how soft, how sad His voice is ever calling Ever unanswered and the dark rain falling Then as now. Dark too our hearts, O love, shall lie And cold as his sad heart has lain Under the moongrey nettles, the black mould And muttering rain."

about

Isn’t it darkness that makes light brighter? Contrasts, closely juxtaposed, open new perspectives on things, an idea that LILAMORS explore with their debut album, overlapping concepts of past and future, real and unreal, this and another world. A bold, intergenerational step, guiding Jazz into new realms of experimental electro-acoustic music, leaving the open question: whether 'When I Am Dead, My Dearest' is about death after all, or rather about birth, rebirth and the re-imaginability of this world.

about

LILAMORS Basel, Switzerland

LILAMORS is a new project of old friends.
With a new album, they are presenting a new member, a new name, and new aesthetics.

Three musicians combine electronic sound art with poetic chant and snowflake-like piano playing. A voice pure and clear as can be, unfolds stories from this and another world, stories of peace and hassle, of love, life and death, of white rivers and purple snow.
